A Year of Resilience and Achievement

Davina McCall’s extraordinary career reached new heights in early 2024 when she was awarded an MBE for services to broadcasting, presented by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace. Her contributions to television were further recognized with a Special Recognition award at the 2024 National Television Awards.

In late 2024, McCall faced a significant personal challenge when she was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, requiring neurosurgery at OneWelbeck Neurology. Following the procedure, while experiencing some short-term memory challenges, she has been recovering well at home.

Current Projects and New Ventures

McCall continues her role as a panel member on The Masked Singer, where she will be joined by Mo, Jonathan, and new panelist Maya Jama in 2025. In an exciting development, she has been announced as the host of a brand new BBC dating show called ‘Stranded on Honeymoon Island.’ McCall expressed enthusiasm about this new role, describing herself as a ‘serial matchmaker’ and looking forward to seeing how couples fare when stranded together.

Advocacy and Personal Projects

In October 2024, McCall launched her own podcast titled ‘Begin Again,’ which celebrates life’s ‘second act’ and aims to empower people to embrace midlife by sharing stories of growth and renewal. She continues to be praised for her advocacy work, particularly regarding menopause awareness, using her social platforms to campaign for this cause.

Following her recovery, McCall has returned to work and is processing her experience ‘in a good way,’ as she stated herself.
