New Season Brings Star-Studded Cast and Fresh Challenges

The Amazing Race Australia is returning for its ninth season, marking the sixth installment of Network 10’s iteration and the third celebrity edition of the show.

Hosted by the familiar face of Beau Ryan, this season features thirteen teams of two, each including at least one celebrity contestant, all competing for a grand prize of A$100,000 for their chosen charity.

Unprecedented Asian Adventure

The competition will span fifteen legs across five countries in Asia. Starting in Pokhara, contestants will journey through Nepal, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Making history, this season marks the first time any version of The Amazing Race has filmed in Uzbekistan, with shooting taking place in Samarkand and Tersak. The season also includes first-time visits to Nepal and Taiwan.

Star-Studded Lineup

The impressive cast features athletes, actors, comedians, internet personalities, and reality TV icons, who will pair up with family members or friends. These teams will push their relationships to the limit while competing for the coveted prize money for their chosen charities.

Notable contestants include:

• Below Deck Chief Stew Aesha Scott, who placed third in 2023’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, competing with her adventure-sport loving fiancé Scott Dobson
• Former MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong, who will tackle the race with her long-term friend Leah Wilson
• Gretel Killeen, the original host of Big Brother Australia, partnering with her daughter Epiphany Morgan, a Guinness World Record holder for film production

New Challenge Format

The season introduces a new element called the Face Off, where teams compete head-to-head in battle challenges. Winners continue racing while losers must wait for the next team. After all teams have competed, the final losing team faces a time penalty before continuing.

Filming began on March 16, 2025, when teams departed from Sydney Airport, with the cast reveal following the next day. Production wrapped up on April 14, 2025. Mark your calendars for the premiere on September 8, 2025, as this promises to be one of the most exciting seasons yet.
