The Return of Australia’s Beloved Cooking Show

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) is set to return to Seven and 7plus at 7.30pm on Monday, 1 September, positioning itself as more than just a cooking competition. The series will showcase ‘real kitchens, real stories and unforgettable flavours,’ offering viewers insight into the family traditions, cultural influences, and personal journeys behind each dish.

Judges and Format

Returning judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel will oversee the competition, which features six teams competing for a grand prize of $100,000. For Manu, being at the helm of My Kitchen Rules is particularly special, as he gets to work alongside one of his best mates, Colin Fassnidge.

Meet the Contestants

This season brings together a diverse lineup of brilliant home cooks from across Australia, including besties, lovers, cousins, and friends, all ready to showcase their culinary skills.

Representing NSW are Justin and Will, who live and breathe food, fitness, and fatherhood. Their friendship began when their wives introduced them 12 years ago, and they’re bringing big flavours and bold banter with a fierce competitive streak.

From Queensland, Michael and Rielli are ready to bring the heat. Michael, a self-proclaimed ‘meat master,’ focuses on bold cuts, while Rielli, a baking queen with a pastry-perfect touch, balances his fire with sweetness.

Victorian mother-daughter team Anne and Maree are bringing the vibrant spirit of Greece to MKR. They’re cooking from a treasured handwritten cookbook passed down by Anne’s late mother, honoring their family legacy through their dishes.

What’s New This Season

According to the judges, this year’s contestants are bringing new recipes, fresh ingredients, and innovative tactics and techniques. Colin hints at some controversial dishes, including one that ‘will divide the table and the nation.’

The show will put special emphasis on family traditions and cultural influences, giving viewers a window into the personal journeys behind each dish, from recipes passed down through generations to creative interpretations of classics.
