Adelaide enters the finals with an impressive record, having not lost a home final against an interstate side since 2012, and maintaining a perfect record in finals against interstate sides at Adelaide Oval since 2016. In a milestone moment for the competition, the Gold Coast Suns are making their first-ever finals appearance in their 15th year of existence.
Path to the Grand Final
The winners of the qualifying finals – Collingwood and Geelong – await in the preliminary finals. Geelong will face the victor of Adelaide’s semi-final match, while Collingwood will host the winner of Brisbane’s semi-final contest. For the first time since 2019, the MCG will host both preliminary finals, leading up to the grand finale on Saturday, September 27, at 2:30pm, where the two preliminary final winners will battle for the ultimate prize.
